Entry Formalities

Visitors from outside the European Union need to have a valid passport in order to enter the country. If you are coming from the European Union (Schengen area) please ensure that you have a valid identitycard.

Visitors from countries other than Schengen area must have a valid passport, and a visa may be required.

Weather and Clothing

During the month of July the weather in Paris is very pleasant. During this period, the average high is 25ºC and the average low is 15 ºC. Please be sure to bring along a sweater or a light jacket as the nights can be cool. An umbrella is also recommended.



The Euro is the official currency of France, and of most European Union member states. The Euro, symbolized by a « €, » has been in public circulation since January, 2002.

There are 8 different Euro coin denominations and 7 different Euro bill denominations in circulation. Coins are denominated in 2 and 1 Euro, then 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 cents. Each member state decorated their own coins, but all coins are interchangeable within the countries. Bills are denominated in 200, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5 and they vary in color and size.



The electrical voltage in France is 220-230 V. Adapters can be found at most electrical stores or supermarket.
